TIL that a huge chunk of small business owners have zero retirement plan

Honestly, I was reading a report from the Small Business Administration and it said like 40% of owners haven't set anything up. That seems wild to me, but I guess the cash flow struggle is real. Are you guys saving for later, or just banking on selling the business someday?

Eh, maybe they're just living in the moment.

My buddy Mark ran a coffee shop for twelve years. He poured every cent back into the place, new machines, fixing the roof. He joked the shop was his 401k. When he had to sell fast last year, the buyer lowballed him. Now he's in his fifties working a manager job somewhere else, scrambling to save. That number, 40%, makes total sense after seeing that happen.

Honestly, that's brutal. Sageross, it's not about living in the moment.
