Vent: My daily stockroom walk used to tell me so much
I could see what was selling just by looking at the shelves. Now I get a report on my phone... it's faster but I miss knowing things for myself.

Technology makes things easier but takes away the gut feel for how things work. Happens everywhere now, not just in stockrooms.

Totally. Reminds me of how my grandma just knows when a cake is done without a timer. @oliver_young50 is right about losing that gut feel. My bread machine is easier, but I never really learned to bake.

Actually, I see it differently. Tools like bread machines show you the basics so you can develop a feel later on. My own grandma started with recipes and timers before she could just know. Technology doesn't kill intuition, it can build it if you pay attention. The key is not relying on the machine without learning why it works. That way, we keep the skills alive.
