Warning: my landlord raised rent $400 with 30 days notice and I almost signed it
I sat in my truck outside the bar at 1am reading the lease update on my phone, called my lawyer cousin in Sacramento the next morning, and got the increase cut to $150 by pointing out he never fixed the walk-in cooler he promised in writing 8 months ago, so what's the dumbest contract term you almost signed just because you were tired?

Dang, your cousin saved you big time on that one. And it makes me wonder how many people just eat the full increase because they don't know to dig up old emails or texts about stuff the landlord promised. Bet half the people in that building paid the extra $400 without saying a word.
