Appreciation post: the old butcher shop on 3rd in my town still wraps everything in butcher paper with a hand-written date
Walked in last Saturday and the guy behind the counter told me he's been handwriting dates on paper for 41 years and refuses to switch to stickers, so I'm curious if anyone else's shop still does the paper and pen thing or if mine is the last one standing.
My friend lives in a small town up north and her butcher still does the same thing, writes the date right on the paper with a marker that's basically glued to his hand. She said he even draws a little smiley face next to it if you're a regular, which she loves. Last time she went in he wrote the wrong month though and had to scribble it out. Made her laugh more than a sticker ever would.
