Broken bandsaw blade snapped mid-cut on a pork shoulder yesterday
Honestly, I was just trimming a pork shoulder and the blade gave out with a loud pop, scared the daylights out of me. It was a 14-inch saw and the blade was only a month old. Anyone else had blades fail way sooner than expected?

Last year I had a brand new 10-inch bandsaw blade snap on the second cut through a pork loin, not even a bone in it. It feels like quality control on these blades has really gone downhill, kind of like how light bulbs used to last for years and now you're lucky to get six months out of a pack. I've noticed the same thing with drill bits too, they just dull out way faster than they used to. Makes you wonder if they're making them thinner or using cheaper steel to save a few cents on each one.

Mark had a 12-inch blade snap on a ham bone last Christmas and it put a gash in his countertop.
