Had the worst Saturday of my career last month at the whole animal shop

I work at a place in Portland that does whole animal breakdowns, and I had this one Saturday where a 200 pound hog slipped off the hook during hanging. It landed on my foot and bent my good Victorinox breaking knife in the process. The whole shift went sideways after that because I had to use a backup blade that just was not the same. Has anyone else had a single bad moment just wreck an entire day like that?

So you had to just limp through the rest of the shift with that backup blade? What was the backup knife you grabbed, a Dexter or something worse? I've had a hog slip before and it's pure chaos, but bending a Victorinox is seriously UNLUCKY. Did you at least manage to save the knife or is it totally toast?

Bending a Victorinox" is right, I just threw the poor thing in the trash where it belonged.
