Overheard a customer at the farmers market say they want 'the cleanest cut' on their pork chops
I was trimming up some loin chops last Saturday and this lady kept asking me to make sure there was no silver skin left at all. Said she got a bad one from a grocery store once and it ruined the whole meal for her. Made me think about how most people don't even know what silver skin is or why it matters. Any of you guys have customers who give you really specific requests that make you change how you trim things?

Funny how one bad experience can make someone an expert on something.

Is it weird how one bad experience can turn someone into the most specific customer ever lol? I've noticed that pattern everywhere not just at meat counters. Like a buddy of mine got a terrible batch of tomatoes from a grocery store once and now he inspects every single one at the farmers market like he's searching for a hidden bomb. Another friend had a bad run with some leather boots that fell apart and now she quizzes every shoe salesperson about stitching and materials for 20 minutes. Once people get burned they just lock onto that one thing and never let it go.

Ngl this is so me its almost embarrassing. I had one bad encounter with a vintage dress that literally fell apart at the seams the first time I wore it, and now I check the stitching on every single thrift store find like I'm inspecting a crime scene. You should see me at the checkout, holding up a dress and squinting at the inside seams like I'm about to write a report about it. My friends make fun of me for it constantly but I just can't help it. Once you get burned you just never trust that specific thing again, no matter how good the deal looks.
