Rant: a $40 cleaver off the truck beat my $180 German knife on every chicken breakdown
Everyone swears you need the fancy forged blade, but I broke down 12 whole chickens last Tuesday with a cheap carbon steel cleaver and it was faster and cleaner on every joint. The soft steel takes an edge in two minutes on a stone and the weight does the work, so my wrist isn't shot after a case of birds. Anyone else running cheap carbon over the pricey stuff, or am I the only one?
