Rant: Stop using a bandsaw for everything, it's not a magic tool
I watched a new guy at my shop try to break down a whole pig with a bandsaw last Friday, even for the tenderloin. You're ruining the meat and making a mess, learn to use a boning knife like the rest of us. Has anyone else seen this lazy habit take over?

Take that idea further and say the real problem isn't using a bandsaw on a pig, it's that this guy NEVER learned basic knife skills. Nobody starts out great with a boning knife, but if you keep grabbing the bandsaw for everything you'll never get the practice you need. I've seen guys spend 20 minutes hacking through a pork shoulder with a saw when a knife would take 3 minutes and give you way better meat. It's like watching someone use a hammer to screw in a lightbulb. The lazy habit is fine for breaking down frozen blocks but it's a crutch that stops you from actually learning your craft.

Is it really that deep though? Like yeah a bandsaw is overkill for tenderloin but who cares if he's just learning.
