The time my mom's organizing system for our cold storage saved a big order
So, my mom visited the shop last week (she used to help my grandpa run it) and saw our walk-in cooler was a mess. We had primal cuts mixed with trim, and orders were getting mixed up. She didn't say much, just started moving things around, labeling shelves with colored tape (blue for beef, red for pork, you get the idea). By the time she was done, everything had a spot, and we could see at a glance what was low. It might sound small, but that system helped us fill a last-minute catering order without any stress. Now, my brother and I use it every day, and it's made our morning prep so much smoother. I even showed my kids how to keep their toys sorted the same way (a nice bonus). Funny how a simple family visit can turn into a trade lesson, right?

My grandma always said a place for everything saves your sanity, like when she color-coded her pantry jars. We laughed at first, but then found stuff twice as fast during big family dinners. Those simple tricks really do stick with you over time.

Those small habits really do add up over time. Maybe try just one new system this week, like sorting a single drawer? What's the first spot you'd tackle?

Simplify the hype, it's just stuff in drawers. If I find my keys most days that's a win.
