Bought a $60 water flosser and it broke in 4 months, total junk
I finally gave in and bought a Waterpik last June because my dentist kept pushing it. Figured spending $60 would get me something decent that lasts. Well, by October the motor started making this awful grinding noise and then it just stopped working. I tried cleaning it out and even looked up YouTube fixes but nothing helped. Customer service offered me a 20% off coupon for a new one, which felt like a slap in the face. Anyone else have a pricier health product fall apart way too fast? Are there any flossers out there that actually hold up for more than a year?

Read a consumer reports thing that said most water flossers average around 8 months before failure, so you're not alone there.

Ugh, I feel you on that "slap in the face" line. That 20% off coupon is such a joke when you just spent $60 on something that barely made it through the summer. It's like they know it's gonna break but just hope you'll buy another one anyway. I had a similar thing happen with a fancy electric toothbrush that died right after the warranty ended. It really makes you wonder if any of these "health gadgets" are built to last more than a year these days.

Ngl, have you checked if the motor is actually dead or just clogged with calcium buildup? I had a $30 one that sounded like it was dying but soaking the tip in vinegar for an hour fixed it right up, might be worth trying before you toss it.
