Hot take: my $60 "lifetime" air filter for the furnace died at 14 months and I'm still mad
I was in the basement last Tuesday changing the filter on our furnace before the cold hit, and the "lifetime washable" one I paid $60 for in 2023 was already falling apart at the seams. The frame had warped so bad it wouldn't even seat right, and my wife said she could smell dust every time the heat kicked on. I ended up at the hardware store at 9pm buying a $12 paper one just to get heat back that night. Now I want to know if anyone here has actually had a washable filter last longer than a couple seasons, or if I just got played by good marketing.
