My grandpa's 1978 Stanley thermos outlasted my $45 Hydro Flask by a decade
I bought the Hydro Flask in 2019 for work and the vacuum seal died after 14 months, while the Stanley he used on the dairy farm in Wisconsin still keeps coffee hot 12 hours later. Did we just used to build stuff thicker or am I remembering it wrong?

Man, I read that older steel was just plain thicker gauge, not some lost art.
