Rant: my $35 rice cooker from the campus bookstore outlasted two $200 ones
Bought a cheap 6 cup rice cooker back in 2011 at the University of Idaho bookstore, figured it would die within a year. It has now survived two moves, a roommate who dropped it down stairs, and about 2,000 batches of rice. Meanwhile my brother paid $210 for a fancy fuzzy logic machine with a screen and it quit after 14 months, right when the warranty ran out. Turns out simple beats smart when the smart part is a circuit board from who knows where. Anyone else got a cheap appliance that just refuses to die?
