That time my grandpa told me to use a cast iron skillet for everything
My grandpa swore I should ditch my nonstick pans and just use a cast iron skillet for eggs, pancakes, everything. He said it would last forever if I treated it right. I finally switched 2 years ago and the thing is still going strong, no scratches or peeling like the cheap ones. Anyone else find cast iron way more durable than people give it credit for?

Honestly, have you ever noticed how the pan actually builds up better flavor over time too, like it seasons whatever you cook next?

Yeah the flavor buildup is totally real lol. Every time I cook bacon in mine the next batch of cornbread comes out tasting like heaven. It's like the pan has a memory or something. Plus you don't gotta stress about babying it like those fancy nonstick pans. Just don't let it soak in water and you're golden.
