Warning: That cheap HDMI cable set from the gas station in Nashville fried my TV port last week
I grabbed a pack of two HDMI cables for $8 at a gas station near downtown Nashville last Thursday. Hooked one up to my TV that night and got no signal, then smelled something burning after 10 minutes. Checked the port and it was charred, now my TV won't display from any input. Anyone else had a cable wreck their equipment like this?

Did the gas station receipt even have a brand name on it?" - nope, just said "HDMI cable" in tiny print. Guess that's what I get for trusting a place that also sells beef jerky next to the lottery tickets, @jennifer965.
