DAE use a folding step stool just to reach their loft bed, or is my cabin ceiling just too low
I built a sleeping loft in my 12x16 cabin last fall and the ceiling up there is only about 3 feet at the peak, so I've been bonking my head for months trying to make the bed. Last week I grabbed a little $15 folding step stool from the hardware store in Branson and started using it to sit on while I pull the sheets up instead of crawling around up there. It sounds dumb but it cut my Saturday morning bed-making from 20 minutes of cursing down to about 5. Curious if anyone else with a low loft has a trick like this, or did you just build higher walls from the start?
Used to roll my eyes at stuff like this and figured people just needed to build smarter, but then I put a loft in my shed with a low roof and ate my words fast. A cheap step stool or a little bench up there really does save your back and your mood when you're fighting fitted sheets in a tight space. Building taller would be ideal, sure, but sometimes you work with what you've got and a $15 fix beats rebuilding the whole place.
