A guy in Waco told me my drawer boxes were fighting his grain direction and it fixed my binding issue
Back in March I dropped off a set of maple drawers at a trim guy's place in Waco and he ran his hand across the fronts before saying the grain was running sideways against the slides, which is why two of them grabbed on the pull. I switched to ripping my stock so the grain runs front to back and added 1/16 inch of slack in the runners, and the binding stopped on the next batch. Do you all orient grain a certain way for drawers, or do you just size the runners loose enough that it does not matter?
