Drove past my old shop in Portland last month and saw it's a coffee roastery now

I used to work out of this beat up building on Division Street back in 2009. We had no dust collection and the floor was always covered in MDF powder. Last month I drove by and it's all bright white walls and they're roasting beans inside. Ngl it made me feel old but also kinda cool that the space got a second life. Has anyone else seen their old workspace turn into something totally different?

That's a pretty cool glow up actually.

Portland has like five new coffee shops per block though, doesn't really count as unique.

Felix kinda has a point about Portland being oversaturated with coffee spots... but still, watching a dusty old workshop turn into something people actually want to hang out in is a pretty big shift. The MDF powder on the floor brings back memories of how rough those spaces used to be, now they're probably charging six bucks for a pour over in the same spot. It's like the city's soul just reinvented itself while we were all looking the other way.
