Had a 3 day run last week where every door fit on the first try and I don't trust it
I knocked out a set of 14 shaker doors for a kitchen in Round Rock last week and every single one dropped in clean, no planing, no shimming, no swearing. Usually I get at least 2 or 3 that fight me on the hinges, but this batch came off the table saw dead on and the rails stayed flat the whole time. My glue up went smooth too, which never happens when it's humid out, and I finished the whole run a full day early with time to sweep up. Here's the thing though, I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop because I did nothing different. Same lumber guy, same blades, same cheap coping sled I've had forever. I half think it was just dumb luck and half think maybe my setup has been fine all along and I've just been rushing the cuts. Anybody else get a run like that and then spend the next job wondering what you did to jinx it?
