My dad always said to let plywood acclimate for a week before cutting. I rushed a job last month and paid for it.

Had a kitchen install in Phoenix with a tight deadline. The plywood for the boxes came straight from the supplier to the shop. I cut and assembled everything in two days. By the time we installed, the panels had shrunk almost a quarter inch in the dry heat, leaving visible gaps at the joints. I had to rebuild three base cabinets on site. Has anyone else gotten burned by not letting material settle, especially in a really dry climate?

Ugh, that's the worst. Honestly, it's like @mila_perry13 asking about the heat, you forget how much it messes with everything. Tbh I see it with my own furniture at home when the seasons change.

A quarter inch in Phoenix? Man, that's brutal.
