One of those weeks where every plywood sheet came back warped
Had 6 sheets of 3/4 birch ply from the local yard all bowed worse than a wet 2x4, wasted a whole day trying to flatten them for a built-in job. Anyone else finding QC on sheet goods getting worse or is it just my area?

Universe telling me to take up knitting? Nah, more like lumber yards are telling me to start a side business selling firewood out of my "premium birch." I already stare at every sheet like I'm inspecting a used car, checking for a crooked smile or a bad bend, but last week's haul still looked flat in the aisle and somehow turned into a potato chip by the time I got it home. Maybe my truck bed has a warp I don't know about.

Stop blaming the universe and start looking at the plywood yourself before you buy it. That's the real fix. The yard isn't checking their stock, but you can. Most lumber yards will let you walk the pile and pick out the flat ones if you ask. For 3/4 birch, you need to check the ends for cupping and look down the long edge for bows. It adds 10 minutes but saves a whole day. If they won't let you pick, find a better supplier.
