PSA: Overheard a client at the hardware store say they were going to cut a miter with a circular saw freehand
It made me think about the wild shortcuts people try to take. What's the most 'creative' method you've ever seen someone attempt on a project?

Okay but why do they always think it'll work? Saw a guy try to use a butter knife as a chisel once, like he was spreading jam on toast. Watched my neighbor "measure" a board by holding it up next to his leg for comparison. The creative methods are just people refusing to walk back to their truck for the right tool.

My uncle built a whole shed using just a pocket knife and a rock for a hammer. Sometimes the wrong tool is all you have, and you just need to get it done.

Honestly it's the same mindset that makes people try to fix a computer by just hitting it. There's this weird belief that force or a quick trick can replace the right knowledge or tool. It's not just about being lazy, it's about not wanting to admit the job needs more than you have on hand. So you end up using a butter knife because admitting you need a chisel feels like losing. We'd rather break something with the wrong tool than take the time to do it right.
