Vent: I fought the grain matching thing on painted cabinets for way too long
For 8 years I ran all my door and drawer fronts through the shaper without giving grain direction a second thought, figured paint hides everything anyway. Then a client in Royal Oak sent back photos of her kitchen at 4pm sun angle, and you could see every seam and direction change right through the paint. Now I flip every other piece so the grain runs the same way on the whole run, adds maybe 20 minutes to a set but the finish looks dead flat. Anyone else get burned by this on a job where the light comes in hard?
