Vent: I used to cut dados with a stack of shims, now I use one $22 setup block

Put together a face frame last Tuesday in the garage and my old dado stack wobbled out a good 1/16 inch, so I finally tried a simple setup block I bought for $22 at the woodworking show in Kansas City. Takes 10 seconds instead of the 5 minutes of shim guessing, but now I'm wondering if the fancy magnetic version at $90 is worth it, anybody actually use one?
