Warning: skip the cheap drawer slides, trust me on this one

I grabbed a 12 pack of budget soft-close slides for $45 and spent a whole Saturday installing them. Two weeks later, three broke on the same kitchen job and I had to rip everything back out. Anyone else learn this the hard way with bargain hardware?

Just read a few weeks back that most budget slides use thinner metal and weaker springs, which explains why they bend so fast under normal use. I did a similar thing with some cheap ones on a bathroom vanity and one literally snapped in half when I closed it a little hard. Sucks that you had to redo the whole kitchen, but at least now you know the $45 lesson beats a $300 callback later lol.
