Why does nobody talk about labeling your own offcuts before they hit the pile
I spent a whole Saturday digging through a pile of maple shorts from an old job, trying to find two matching pieces wide enough for a small drawer box, and I never found them. Turns out I had cut what I needed six months back and buried it. Now every offcut that's wider than 3 inches gets a strip of blue tape with the species and the width in marker, and I sort them into milk crates by size instead of dumping them all in one bin. Did a set of kitchen doors off leftover stock two weekends ago and never touched a full board. How do you all keep track of shorts, bins by size or by species?
