Am I the only one who used to hand-twist coax splices before learning about compression connectors in my first year?

I switched after my trainer in Phoenix showed me how a $15 compression tool prevents moisture wicking and signal loss that hand-twists cause, so what's your go-to method for a solid splice now?

Wait, you used to just twist them by hand? I can't even picture that holding up in bad weather. What did you do when it rained, just hope for the best? My signal would drop out every time a cloud passed by.

Read that hand-twists can cause micro-fractures, true?

Oh man, I saw something about that too! It was talking about how the constant small stress on the bones from twisting could lead to tiny cracks over time. Makes you think twice before cracking your knuckles, huh.
