Clipped my own fiber drop with a ladder this morning
I was setting up a new line at a house on Maple Street and didn't think about where I put the ladder. Snapped the 100 foot drop clean in half. Had to call my supervisor and explain why I needed another spool.

Ladders are basically the sworn enemy of fiber lines, and yours isn't the first to lose that fight. Always check your surroundings twice before you start moving equipment around, because one wrong step can cost you half a morning. At least now you know exactly where not to put the ladder next time.

Wait, half a morning?? You mean a whole ladder mistake can take out like FOUR HOURS of work? Thats insane. I always thought it was just a quick fix and you move on.

Heh, half a morning for a fix" is right. I used to think it was just a quick splice and go, but after seeing how tangled things get when you yank a line the wrong way? Yeah, no. That's a whole ordeal now. You ever had to re-run a whole drop?
