Learned a harsh lesson from my garage security cam install
If you don't weatherproof connections, moisture will kill your gear in weeks.

Ever try heat shrink tubing?

Remember when that stuff seemed like it was only for professional electricians? I totally wrote it off for years as being too fancy or difficult to use. Then I tried some on a bundle of loose cables and again on a tool handle for a better grip. It completely changed my mind, it's such a simple fix for so many little problems.

But honestly, how bad can it really get? Unless your camera is fully exposed to the rain, a little moisture seems overblown. I've had stuff in my open garage for a year with just some basic electrical tape and it's fine. Spencer847's heat shrink idea is solid, but that feels like going all out for a problem most people won't even have.
