Saw a stat about RG6 cable age that stopped me in my tracks

Reading through some old trade magazines from the 90s I found in a job site dumpster, and they claimed RG6 was only supposed to last 15-20 years tops. I've been pulling out stuff from 2005 that tested fine last week. Makes me wonder how many of these replacements we're doing are actually needed or just padding someone's pocket. Has anyone else run into cable that old that still passed signal?

Wait, that stat actually makes me rethink a few jobs I've done?

Did my own wiring in 2005 and it still works, so maybe I should charge less?
