Spent 45 minutes chasing a ground fault that was just a loose bonding nut on the meter base
Turns out the weatherhead was fine and the drop tested clean but that one nut was finger tight on a install from 3 years ago, anyone else waste a whole morning on something this stupid?

Waste a whole morning on something this stupid" - I get the frustration but I don't see it as wasted time. That loose nut could have caused real problems down the road, maybe even a fire hazard. You found the issue and fixed it, which is exactly what that 45 minutes was for.

Yeah I used to think the same way. Like if it didn't break or cause a problem right then, I felt like I wasted my time. But after chasing down a few weird electrical issues in my own house I totally get it now. That 45 minutes is cheap insurance.

Totally agree with you there man. I spent two hours one weekend tracking down a ground fault in my kitchen wiring that was tripping the breaker randomly. When I finally found it - a loose wire nut behind the drywall - I was stoked, not pissed. That little problem could've burned my whole place down if I just ignored it and put the panel cover back on. Now I'm the guy who checks every single connection before I close anything up, even if it takes twice as long. Peace of mind is worth more than a quick finish.
