Wait hold on, RG6 is 75 ohm coax for cable TV and satellite, not structured cabling like Cat6 or fiber. The NIST spec you're thinking of is for different cable types entirely.

Wait, are you saying that NIST is actually talking about different types of coax here, or is this about cat6 and fiber altogether? Because I've got a roll of rg6 sitting in my garage right now from when I tried to wire up a security camera a couple years ago, and I remember looking it up and seeing the 75 ohm spec you mentioned. But then I get confused because some places say rg6 is perfectly fine for certain network stuff if you use the right adapters, while other places act like it's only for tv signals and you'll break something if you try anything else. So which is it really? I feel like half the battle with this stuff is figuring out what the right cable even is for the job, and it gets more tangled the deeper you go.
