The way folks are grounding RG6 these days is making me nervous
I keep seeing installers just looping a ground wire around the connector instead of using a proper bonding block. Saw a house in Columbus last week where the whole setup sparked when I touched it. Has anyone else run into this on the regular?

Seen way too much of that lately. Caught a guy in Cincinnati doing the exact same loop trick around a connector and when I pointed it out he just shrugged and said it worked fine. That Columbus house you mentioned sounds exactly like one I ran into near Hilliard last fall where the whole cable line was buzzing from a bad ground. Folks are skipping the bonding block to save five bucks and five minutes, and it's going to bite them when lightning hits or some kid touches the wrong spot. Really hoping the inspectors start calling this out more before someone gets hurt.

Not saying it's nothing, but how often does lightning really hit a house like that? I hear people talk about it like it's every other storm, but I've never seen it happen in person. The buzzing ground thing does sound weird though, maybe there's another issue going on there too. Is the bonding block really a big deal if the signal is still clear?
