Tried using a Fusion splicer on old RG6 coax last week

I thought it would save time on a shitty install in Austin but the thing just kept failing on the damn copper shielding and I learned that sometimes the old manual compression fittings actually work better for legacy cable drops so has anyone else tried this and just wasted their whole afternoon?

Used to swear by splicing but nah, compression fittings win every time on old coax.
