ACAMPs panel doctor told me I was faking... turned out I had a torn labrum
I went to an AME at Kaiser in San Jose for my shoulder injury from work. The doctor spent maybe 10 minutes with me and wrote in his report that I was "exaggerating symptoms." My lawyer pushed for a second opinion with a specialist in Oakland who did an MRI arthrogram. Turns out I had a torn labrum that needed surgery. Has anyone else had a QME or AME totally miss something obvious?

Yeah that "exaggerating symptoms" thing is garbage, I had a torn meniscus that got missed once too.

Sucks when they just write you off like that, man. My cousin had a similar deal with a QME for his back, doc said he was fine, turned out he had two herniated discs. Its like some of these doctors have already made up their minds before they even walk in the room. Glad you pushed for that second opinion though, a torn labrum is no joke and catching it before it gets worse is huge. Hope the surgery went well and youre healing up alright.
