My adjuster told me to just 'wait it out' on my claim... 6 months later, still nothing

Back in March I fell off a ladder delivering a package in Burbank and my claims adjuster said don't worry, these things take time. 6 months later I'm still waiting on a single medical bill to get approved. Has anyone else had their adjuster give them bad advice like that?

Did you catch that recent Consumer Reports piece about adjusters dragging their feet hoping people just give up? That's exactly what this sounds like. I'd start calling your state insurance department.

Whoa, I gotta push back on that a little @the_charlie. I read that Consumer Reports piece too and it had some good points, but I don't think every slow adjuster is trying to trick you. Sometimes they're just swamped with claims and the system is a mess. I've had a couple claims go slow before but after a polite call things moved along fine. Calling the state insurance department right away feels like a big step for something that might just be a backlog. I'd try one more phone call and ask for a timeline before going that route.
