My lawyer told me to stop posting on social media during my claim

My attorney said back in March that even a simple photo of me at a BBQ could be used against my workers comp case. I thought she was being paranoid but then the insurance adjuster actually brought up a picture I posted of me holding my kid last year. Has anyone else had their social media come back to bite them during a settlement?

Even a simple photo at a BBQ" - that's wild. I honestly think lawyers sometimes overhype how much the insurance company cares about your vacation pics.

My buddy got rear-ended last year and the insurance adjuster actually asked him for his Instagram password. Not kidding. They pulled up photos from three months before the accident where he was holding a fishing rod. Claimed he couldn't have a bad back if he was strong enough to reel in a fish. The lawyer told him to set everything to private going forward. It's not just vacation pics either - they'll look at anything you post online and twist it against you.

Guess he should've posted a picture of himself sleeping instead.
