That $500 'work conditioning' program was a complete scam

I fell for it back in February after my shoulder surgery (from a warehouse injury near Bakersfield). The clinic promised they'd get me back to full duty in 4 weeks with their fancy equipment and daily sessions. I paid $500 upfront because my lawyer said it might help my case. After week 2, they had me doing the same 3 stretches on a yoga mat for 45 minutes every day. I could have done that at home for free! The guy running it was just a personal trainer, not even a physical therapist. I quit after week 3 and never saw a dime back. Has anyone else been pushed into these 'work hardening' programs by their claims adjuster?

Not gonna lie, I kind of see it different. A structured program with someone watching your form can be way more helpful than just doing stuff on your own at home, even if the exercises are simple. Most people slack off or do them wrong when nobody's there.

Did your lawyer recommend that specific place or just tell you to find one? I had a similar thing happen after my car accident where the place was basically a glorified gym with a sign that said "rehab" on it.
