That one lawyer's critique that changed how I document my work comp case
My attorney told me I was writing too much fluff in my injury logs. He said keep it to just the date, time, body part, and what specifically hurts, not a whole story about how it happened. For example, instead of 'my back flared up after lifting a box wrong at work,' he said just write 'lumbar pain, 3/10, post-lift activity.' I started doing that six weeks ago and my adjuster actually stopped arguing with my records. Has anyone else gotten feedback like that from their lawyer?

Yeah, the 'fluff' part really stuck with me. That's exactly what my lawyer told me too. He said adjusters don't care about your story or how you felt about it, they just want the bare facts so they can process it. I started doing the same thing and noticed my claims went through a lot faster after that. It feels weird to strip out all the detail, but it actually works way better.

What gets me about the "strip out the fluff" thing is nobody talks about how it actually protects you too. Less detail means less stuff for them to pick apart later if something goes sideways. Keep it short and they got nothing to twist around on you.
