That week my QME report came back, worst 5 days of my life
I waited 14 months for my Qualified Medical Evaluation and finally got the report last Thursday. The doctor said my shoulder injury was only 4% impaired, even though I showed him the MRI showing two torn tendons. My lawyer read it and just shook his head, said we'd need a supplemental report which costs another $2,000 out of pocket. My weekly checks already dropped because the insurance company used that number to cut my benefits. Has anyone else fought a low QME rating and actually got it overturned?
That 4% number feels like they pulled it out of a hat. One thing nobody mentioned, the QME might have used the wrong body part rating schedule, shoulder vs arm vs cervical spine, and that changes the math completely. Worth having your lawyer double check the actual code they used before paying for the supplemental, sometimes it's just a clerical error you can fight for free.
