The tricky part about choosing a lawyer for your work comp case

I'm seeing two camps on this in the forums: some say go with the big firm that has more resources, others swear by a smaller solo practitioner who gives you personal attention. Last month I switched from a mid-size firm in San Jose to a solo lawyer after my case stalled for 6 months with no updates. Has anyone else debated this trade off between firepower and actually getting your calls returned?

Firepower and actually getting your calls returned" sounds like the plot of a lawyer action movie where the hero just wants to check in. Good luck getting through to anyone at the big firm without filing a motion first.

Man, that reminds me of when I had to chase down a workers comp thing a few years back. I just started calling every single day at 8am sharp, same time, until they got sick of hearing my voice. Eventually the receptionist just patched me through to the adjuster directly to make me stop.

Took me three weeks just to get a paralegal to call me back when I was trying to settle a simple fender bender. Ended up just showing up at the office lobby and waiting until someone came out to grab lunch. Got my paperwork signed but I'm pretty sure they thought I was a stalker.
