Finally got the shutter back together on a Minolta SRT101 after 3 weeks of fighting it
Three weeks ago a guy brought in his dad's old SRT101 from a house cleanout in Akron, shutter was frozen solid and the mirror was stuck up. I must have taken that thing apart and put it back together 4 times, kept losing the timing on the second curtain. Last night around 11pm I finally got the gear train lined up right and it fired clean at every speed from 1 to 1000. I actually yelled in my basement shop and my wife thought something broke. Anyone got a trick for holding those tiny curtain springs without launching them across the room?
