Got blindsided by a sticky aperture blade on a Rolleiflex yesterday
Brought in a Rolleiflex 2.8F for a CLA and the aperture blades were stuck something fierce, took me 4 hours just to get the shutter group out without bending anything. My usual trick with lighter fluid and a micro brush failed completely, blades were corroded near the edges, not just oily. Had to disassemble the blade stack down to each leaf and polish them individually, worked out but I lost half a day on one camera. Anyone else run into corrosion like this on older Rollei shutters, or is it just me being unlucky with this particular unit from Seattle?
