Hot take: using a hairdryer on old sticky shutter blades works better than any solvent I've wasted money on
I zapped a stuck leaf shutter on a beat up Mamiya C220 with a cheap Revlon hairdryer for 3 minutes and it freed right up without leaving any residue, has anyone else tried heat before chemicals?

Did you hit it with low or high heat? I've got a Yashica Mat that's been sitting in my closet for months with sticky blades and I'm scared to crack it open with solvent lol. Actually tried the heat trick on a sticky Copal shutter off a beat up 6x9 folder last week and it worked way better than I expected, just held the dryer about 6 inches away for a couple minutes and worked the speed dial a few times.

Had a buddy who tried the heat trick on his Mamiya C330 and left the dryer on high. Melted a little piece of the plastic focusing ring before he noticed. @michaelchen probably smart to go low and slow with that Yashica, those things are finicky.
