Switched from canned air to a compressor for sensor cleaning

Used to blow dust off mirror boxes with those little cans. Then a guy at a shop in St. Louis showed me how much pressure you actually need for delicate stuff. Anyone else find the switch saves money and gives better control?

Jumped on that bandwagon myself a couple years back and haven't looked back since. Spent way too much on those little cans that always seemed to run out halfway through a sensor cleaning. Now I just dial the pressure down, take my time, and save a bunch of money on top of it.

Switched to a small airbrush compressor myself after a sensor cleaning mishap with canned air left residue. Works great but I accidentally blew a cobweb off my patio furniture with it last week, which was oddly satisfying. Just take it slow with the pressure knob and you'll be fine.

Make sure you're using a moisture trap on the line too. Humidity in a compressor can spray tiny water droplets right onto your sensor if you skip that, and that's a whole new headache to deal with. I just grab a cheap inline filter from the hardware store and it's solved those issues for me. Also keep the tank drained between uses so nothing builds up inside. You'll save plenty of cash in the long run but you gotta set that gear up right first.
