Took me 6 hours to fix a jammed shutter on a Minolta SRT-101

Turns out a tiny piece of foam from the mirror bumper had flaked off and was wedged under the curtain drum spring. Has anyone else had foam debris cause shutter jams like that?

Isn't it funny how the smallest piece of junk always causes the biggest headache?

Gotta call you out on something though, it's not really the size of the junk that matters, it's where it gets stuck. Like a tiny piece of string in a lawnmower blade can mess up your whole afternoon, but a bigger chunk of wood just gets thrown out. The small stuff finds the tight spots, the gaps, the places where you can't even see it until you've already pulled half your hair out trying to fix the thing. My dad used to say a pebble in your shoe is worse than a rock on the road, and he wasn't wrong. So yeah, the little junk is sneaky, not just a headache by being small.

Always keep a pair of tweezers and a bright little flashlight in your tool kit... saved me so many times with tiny bits of wire or string stuck in places you'd never expect.
