Vent: I've been cleaning mirror boxes wrong for 5 years and didn't know

I always thought a quick puff of air was fine, but last month a customer brought in a Nikon F3 with visible oil on the mirror. Took it apart and realized I had been pushing old grit into the foam every time. Has anyone else had a similar wake-up call with something basic?

Blowing dust off mirrors just pushes it deeper, learned that one the hard way myself. A soft brush and some patience beats compressed air every time. Live and learn on this one.

@milaprice yep learned that one the hard way lol. microfiber cloth is the real mvp here.
