Yashica shutter curtain jammed on a job site, what's your go to fix?

I was repairing a Yashica Electro 35 for a client in Portland last Tuesday when the shutter curtain got stuck halfway during a test fire. Turns out a tiny piece of foam from the light seal had peeled off and wedged itself under the curtain track. I used a thin brass probe and some canned air to clear it, but I'm wondering if anyone else has a more solid way to keep old foam bits from causing this.

That exact thing happened to me last fall with a GSN I was fixing for a customer in Eugene. A chunk of the old foam on the pressure plate had gone sticky and soft, then it just slid right into the curtain track when I closed the back. I ended up using a wooden toothpick instead of a probe cause I was scared of scratching the aluminum track, plus a rocket blower to push out any crumbs. The real fix for me was just replacing all the foam on every Electro I touch now, even if it looks fine. Takes an extra ten minutes but saves me from doing this dance again on the next job.
