I finally hit 100 nights in my hammock setup
Everyone says hammocks are for short trips. Not me. 100 nights spread over 3 years. Used it rain, snow, summer heat. No tent ever. People told me I'd get cold or hate sleeping curved. Never happened. Got a good underquilt and tarp setup. That was key. Anyone else stick with a hammock way longer than expected?

DANIEL makes a SOLID point about the underquilt packing down small. That's the real secret nobody talks about. It's funny how people get stuck in "this is how we've always done it" mode and refuse to try something different. I see it all the time on the road where guys will drive the same boring route for YEARS even though a better one is right there on the map. Same deal with hammocks - folks just assume ground sleeping is the ONLY way because that's what they've been told. You've found what works for you and that's what matters most in the end.

Wait, are you telling me there's people out there who actually sleep on the ground like cavemen? I hit 60 nights in my hammock last year alone and I'm never going back. My buddy keeps trying to sell me on his fancy air mattress setup but I just laugh and point at my underquilt that packs down to the size of a football.
